Developed with Atrius Development Group, the 20-inch rifle and 11.5-inch SBR anchor a national Welcome Home campaign and support Columbus Indiana Huey.
BROWNSTOWN, Ind. — One Horse, a Family Owned and Veteran Owned American firearms manufacturer, announces the November 8, 2026, launch of the One Horse Express Retros, developed in collaboration with Atrius Development Group. The new lineup introduces Sarge, a 20-inch rifle, and Archie, an 11.5-inch short-barreled rifle (SBR), both chambered in 5.56.
The Express Retros bring the familiar carry handles, clamshell handguards and silhouettes associated with the Vietnam era into the One Horse Express Series. Each combines an American Made firearm with the Atrius Development Group Mil-Spec Forced Reset Selector, connecting the platform's heritage with the companies' continuing collaboration.
The names carry personal meaning. Sarge honors Don Morgan, a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. Archie is named in posthumous tribute to the A-Gunner who served alongside Carl J. Vondielingen, a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. Both Morgan and Vondielingen are from the Brownstown, Indiana, area. Together, the two models recognize both those who can share their stories today and those whose memories are carried by the men who served beside them.
The launch also anchors a national campaign built around two words: Welcome Home. One Horse is inviting Americans to recognize Vietnam Veterans, listen to their stories and offer the welcome so many were denied when they returned. The campaign creates an opportunity for that generation to pass the torch and for the next to accept the responsibility of remembrance.
"These rifles and SBRs carry names that mean something. Sarge honors Don Morgan. Archie carries the memory of Carl's A-Gunner, a man whose story deserves to keep being told," said Jeremy Hammons, CEO and co-founder of One Horse. "When the Vietnam generation passes us the torch, we inherit a responsibility to remember the people behind it: the friends they lost, the lives they built and the weight they still carry.
"We cannot give them back the homecoming they deserved decades ago. We can stand beside them today, look them in the eye and say, 'Welcome Home.' We want these firearms to start conversations between generations, so a name becomes a story and that story gets passed on. Long after we are gone, those Veterans should still be remembered. That is the meaning behind the Express Retros."
One Horse will donate 5% of gross sales of Express Retros firearms sold during November 2026 to Columbus Indiana Huey Inc. The all-volunteer nonprofit preserves a UH-1 Huey as a flying museum, honors Veterans and active military personnel, and educates communities about the aircraft and the people it served, including its connection to the Vietnam War.
