The 800-lumen/100k-candela rifle light received an overall score of 4.33 on a scale of 1 (poor) to 5 (excellent).
One tester from Rhode Island commented, " This light is a great addition to any rifle. From the outside packaging, you see that this is a mighty light, 100K candela light and 800 lumens. This showed from the first use. The light has a very distinct hot spot that punches out very far. The high candela also punches right through vehicle window tint giving you a high advantage. The overall spill is marginal compared to other competitors lights at similar specs. The construction is great, and you can feel the quality of the construction from the first touch. You can feel the strong metal and see that it will hold up over time. The light comes with everything you need to mount for different mounting systems. It also comes with a pressure pad if you want to set that up or you can use the push button tail cap, user preference. The light can also be used as a handheld light if needed, just simply take off the mounting screws."
Another tester from Arizona concurred, “I tested this on a patrol SBR. The LGL really felt like the perfect balance for a rifle. It has a very obvious ring of light/border for close up but still illuminates everything in front starting at about 15 away. Using it in room clearings seems overkill, but in a good way. The beam still spreads just enough and really floods the area.
Distance though, this is what this light is made for. I used it to easily positively ID target at 110 yards, and it has tons of light beyond. I think any further and you are running into other possible issues unrelated to the light.
I know it may seem like an afterthought, but the rail mounted cable management is a nice touch, included in the package. Sure, electrical tape works, but it always leaves a nasty residue. The remote switch and cable puck fit this light perfectly.
I took the light off and tried it on patrol rounds, handheld, but left the picatinny mount on. It fit in the hand nicely and lights anything up its aimed at. At night, it’s a spotlight, but even during the day, it can be used to point out something in a photo.
I think the Turbo is a solid light and works well as intended (on a rifle), or as a backup flashlight.”
